Making Change, Making an Impact

Each month a new organization is selected. Whether it’s a shelter, food bank, youth program or community center, we’re committed to getting funds into the hands of those who need it.

When you visit our casino, you’ll notice designated bins at our front entrance where you can donate spare change or TITO tickets.

Every penny counts and all contributions go directly to the charity selected for the month, benefiting our local communities.

This Month’s Charity:

Michigan Legacy Art Park

Throughout the month of January, Turtle Creek Casino and Leelanau Sands Casino will be placing bins conveniently located at the front entrances and next to ATMs/cash out machines. There will be signage to encourage guests to donate their TITO tickets and other monetary donations to this month’s cause.

Michigan Legacy Art Park (the Art Park) is a year-round 501c3 institution dedicated to arts, culture, and environmental education, operating a 31-acre sculpture park within the forests of Thompsonville, Michigan. Opened in 1995, the Art Park’s mission is to inspire awareness, appreciation, and passion for Michigan’s history and stories, culture, and environment through the arts. The Park contains more than 50 sculptures in its permanent collection, an amphitheater used for events, a quarter-mile accessible trail, a two-mile natural-surface trail, an annual community art installation that includes participation from students, residents, and visitors, and a Discovery Grove designed for student environmental and art programming.

Each year, the Art Park hosts approximately 1,100 to 1,500 local students who are introduced to art, nature, environmental education, local history, and narratives related to Michigan. On average, around 20,000 children, adults, and families visit the Art Park annually, mainly from Benzie, Grand Traverse, Leelanau and Manistee counties. Opportunities for engagement with fine art and sculpture are limited in northwest Michigan, particularly in rural communities like Benzie County. The Art Park provides access to fine art and environmental education in an outdoor setting throughout the year.
