Grand Traverse Resort & Casinos will be temporarily closing Turtle Creek Casino & Hotel and Leelanau Sands Casino & Lodge and limiting operations at Grand Traverse Resort & Spa to mitigate the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19). This decision is part of the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians efforts to combat the virus and ensure the safety of all community members.

“While there have been no reported cases of COVID-19 at any of our properties, we will be closing our casinos and hotels today at 5:00pm until further notice. The protection of our guests, employees, and vendors is paramount,” states Grand Traverse Resort & Casinos CEO Michael Schrader. “During the temporary closure, all casino employees will be placed on leave status and fully compensated, and a deep clean of the facilities will be conducted. Our convenience store, Eagle Town  market, will remain open.” Turtle Creek Market is closed until further notice.

Grand Traverse Resort and Spa will continue to operate with essential staff offering one hundred Tower Guest Rooms. All other amenities are closed.

Q: Why are you closing? Do you have a confirmed case of COVID-19?

A: We closed Turtle Creek Casino & Hotel as a precautionary measure for our guests and team members. There are no confirmed cases of COVID-19 at Turtle Creek Casino & Hotel at this time.


Q: When will you re-open? How can I be the first to know?

A: Currently, there is not a confirmed open date. To stay up to date on our re-opening day, check this page and our social media.


Q: What happens to my Grand Rewards player’s card while you are closed?

A: Your Grand Rewards player’s card will remain active and your tier status will be maintained. All balances will be kept in your account.


Q: Will my host be available during the shutdown? 

A: Yes, your existing host will be available if assistance is needed.  


Q: Are all March casino promotions & events all canceled? Will promotions and events be rescheduled?

A: Yes. At this time, all March and April promotions and events are postponed during this temporary closure.

Q: What about my drawing entries? Are they still good?

A: While Saturday Super 7s has been canceled, we will save your entries for a future drawing. Stay tuned for more information.


Q: What happens to my offers while the casino is closed? Will I get new offers once you are open again?

A: Your weekly E-Credit offers will resume once we re-open. Your weekly E-Credit offers are based on your average daily play, so us being closed won’t affect your average one bit.

Any bounce-back offers you have earned will be mailed when we re-open. If you have a bounce back offer that you haven’t used yet, but expires after March 16, hold on to it and we will make it right.


Q: What if my TITO tickets expire while Turtle Creek Casino & Hotel is temporarily closed?

A:  We will honor all TITO tickets if the voucher expiration date occurs during our temporary closure. 


Q: What are you doing during the closure?

A: While the casino and hotel is temporarily closed, we will use the time to do a very thorough deep clean of the entire property. This will include public spaces, offices, and employee areas. 

Q: I’m looking for a place to stay, is your hotel open?

A: The hotel at Turtle Creek Casino & Hotel is closed. However, there are a limited number of rooms available at Grand Traverse Resort and Spa. (based on availability) For reservations, call 800-922-2946.

Q: What happens to my reservation? Will I be charged any fees?

A: All reservations made through April 13, 2020, have been automatically canceled. You will not be charged any cancellation fees.

If you have an upcoming reservation, it is pending based on our re-open date. If you want to keep your upcoming reservation you don’t need to do anything. If you would like to cancel your future reservation, please reach out to our front desk upon re-opening.

Q: Can I make a reservation for May or later this year? Can I apply my Grand News offers?

A: Yes! If you would like to make a future reservation in or after May, feel free to make your reservation today and we will apply your hotel offer to your room at check-in.


Q: I purchased tickets to Scrap Metal at Leelanau Sands Casino, will I receive a full refund for my tickets? 

A: Yes, you will automatically receive a full refund if you purchased your tickets via Etix or by credit card at the box office. Refunds are being issued in order by the date of the performance, so thank you for your patience. If you purchased your tickets with cash or check at our box office, please visit the box office once we re-open.


Q: How can I obtain a win/loss statement?

A: Win/Loss statements will be processed as normal. Simply download the win/loss request form by clicking here, fill it out, and send it in. If you provide us with your email address you will get the win/loss statement a couple of days faster than if we send it to you via the post office.


Q: Is Turtle Creek Market closed?

A: Yes. Turtle Creek Market will remain closed though April 30 at the earliest.


Q: Are you paying your employees while you’re closed?

A: Yes. All employees will be placed on leave status and fully compensated through April 29.
